About Me

My photo
Island girl & Vegas junkie. Sharing my obsession of Sin City. Off the strip, on the strip, dining, hotels, & fashion. No fancy schmancy camera (at least not yet) but I hope you enjoy my view of this wonderful playland in the dessert and some fillers here & there of my hermit lifestyle.

The Chandeliar Bar at The Cosmopolitan Resort and Casino

A three level bar in the center of The Cosmopolitan. The crowds were crazy, but we managed to get a seat at the bar & ordered some cool drinks. I always ask the bartenders what their specialty is or what's recommended. Here were my results.

Campfire Delite

FireBreathing Dragon

I do have a video of this but it was lame. I didn't follow instructions very well. With this drink you are give a few rasberries that are dipped in nitrogen. You pop these in your mouth and take a drink, then you breath out the fire, but I was too slow.

Bellagio Fountains

While walking to the grand opening of the Cosmopolitan Hotel. I took a quick video on my phone. It just put me in the best holiday spirit. Mind you, those days are over when we would stop & enjoy the fountain and the music its accompanied by, so this was my chance to get a quick video in while walking in high boots & rushing to the grand opening.

From saimin, stir fry, to spam musubi. Lots of favorites here, We had the teri beef sandwich, pork tofu, & two musubi's to go.

California Hotel & Casino

The hubby won a trip to Las Vegas with his comapny and we had a 4 night 5 stay at the California Hotel & Casino in Downtown Las Vegas. We had a great stay here. Everything is so close no wonder all our Kupuna's love staying at any Boyd Gaming Hotel. Refrigator in the room & it's empty so you can put your own sh!+ in there. BONUS!! :)

Nathan's Hot Dog & Deep Fried Twinkies at Mermaids Casino

Craving something out of the ordinary? How about some Deep Fried Twinkies or Oreo's. Nathan's Hot dog at Mermaids in the downtown will get you fixed. The joint is located in the back of this tiny casino and it's not your typical mainstream Nathan's. The kitchen is a grease galore party that probably gets cleaned once a week instead of once a day. I guess this is what adds flavor to those deep fried concoctions. Anyway, we ordered some hot dogs and a deep fried twinkle. Very tasty and not greasy at all.

Royal Flush at Peter's Bar

A nice Pre- 10-10-10
I did split the winnings with my girlfriend. She was on it before I was. I told her I would give her half if I hit the Royal Flush.

Hash House a Go Go Chicken & Waffles

This trip, at Hash House a Go Go I finally got to try the famous Chicken & Waffles. I was not disappointed. It tasted as good as it was presented. As you can see portions are very generous. Note: They do charge about two bucks for sharing an order.

Excalibur Hotel & Casino

A little misfortunate delay with our flight back home landed us at the Excalibur Hotel & Casino. It's one of the older hotel's on the strip but a great place to bring the kids. We had a fun night and made a little money too.

Luv It Frozen Custard

Perfect on an August summer afternoon Luv It Frozen Custard is smooth, rich, creamy melt in your mouth old fashion frozen custard just as advertised. A gem in the downtown district.

CurbSide Cafe

The newest craze hitting the states including Vegas are Food Trucks. Here in the islands we call it lunch wagons. We found one food truck on this specific day via Twitter @CurbsideCafeLV. CurbSide Cafe. The special of the day was Tilapia taco's. Although I was too lame to try the taco's,the hubby & amp; brother in law  ordered it. By golly it was delish!! Never had Tilapia in my life. You know the stories that surround the Tilapia. Comes from dirty rivers blah, blah, blah... Maybe that's why it was so tasty!! HA, BTW I ordered the buffalo wings wrap. Don't forget to order the sweet potato fries.

Cafe Vetro at Aria for breakfast

Portuguese sausage breakfast on the menu.  I love Portuguese sausage but they seem to have very different flavors by brand. My local favorite is Hawaiian Brand hot Portuguese sausage. Anyway, the sausage was very tasty, reminds me of Zippy's Portuguese sauusage
