About Me

My photo
Island girl & Vegas junkie. Sharing my obsession of Sin City. Off the strip, on the strip, dining, hotels, & fashion. No fancy schmancy camera (at least not yet) but I hope you enjoy my view of this wonderful playland in the dessert and some fillers here & there of my hermit lifestyle.

Ping Pang Pong

Since we found out that Noodle Asia at the Venetian was closed for renovations we headed out to Gold Coast to Ping Pang Pong. They are both owned by the same owner. This is your very traditional dim sum Chinese restaurant. Fast paced and for me, the waitress' are hard to understand and are not patient when you do not understand what they are saying :)!  and they want you out as soon as you are done. I think this is the only culture that we still put up with bad customer service, but we still come back for more. Why is that? Anyway, we were not disappointed at all, everything we tried was very good and not too greasy at all. My favorite was a noodle within a noodle. This is where I asked the waitress what is this and she just kept saying noodle...noodle in noodle....just noodle. I took one bite and enjoyed every bit of it. Soft on the outside and crunchy within. We also to some desserts to go.

There is always a line, we got there at 11 and we had to wait about 10 minutes before being seated. So if you don't like lines get there early. The average wait time we have experienced was half an hour at the longest. Remember, they like you in and out.

Well this was a perfect way to end the trip

On the husbands last $5.00 and an hour or so till we were ready to head back home. I swear Peter is just a lucky charm for us.

Food Truck gathering to support The Nevada Cancer Institute

I try to get the husband to hunt down a food truck when we are out & about, this time I was lucky becuase we were actually in the area where a food rally was happening.. Social media is a great tool when you want to find out what's happeing around you. SlidinThru and several other trucks were at the National Cancer Institute for lunch.

I couldn'd decide what to eat, everything on the menu looked so ono. I ended up with a Yaya burger and a Pulley Porky. Both were full of flavor and perfectly portioned for me.

Oh, and I love how they greet their customers, with a big bang fist pump!!

Find them on Twitter @slidinthru

The husband went to Yellow Tail lunch wagon to grab a bit. I think he got the Philly Cheese Steak sandwich

The Venetian Race & Sports book and Noodles Asia under renovations

I was so sad to arrive and see this area all boarded up. This section is where Noodle Asia once stood and to the left was the Venetian sports book. A perfect pairing as ducks soup & fried rice is just steps away. Completion of this renovation should be completed and opened by November. Hopefully in time for us to enjoy this favorite hang out of ours.

Sugar Factory American Brasserie & Bar

Since opening at the Mirage in 2007, Sugar Factory has expanded to a American Brasserie and Bar. This new location is at the Paris hotel on the strip which opened this past March 2011. I saw three different sections plus an upstairs. The front side has the dining area, the direct opposite has the retail store and in the back before entering the Paris casino is the chocolate lounge. I wish I knew about this before we had dinner. looks like a cool fun bar.

A Hubba Bubba for me... Next time I go I am definitely going to try the fish bowl

Bellagio Conservatory Fall 2011

We arrived at the Bellagio while the conservatory was still under construction. Here are a few photo's of what we were able to view

Illustrations were in view while access to the conservatory was blocked off while they were redoing the conservatory.

If I won enough money...

This was a nice surprise

I love Video Poker and this time I was extra happy when this popped up on the screen, 4 deuces and the kicker dealt to me on a $1.00. I usually play quarters & if I get lucky and keep winning, I mix it up and change the denomination to a higher amount. A suggestion given to me by a friend who always hits on the $1.00 and $5.00 VP machine. If you are not winning switch it to another denomination. So do you have a method when gambling?

Hyde at Bellagio

So this what is replacing The Fontana Bar at the Bellagio. I wonder if I will still be able to listen to the live music as I sit & play Video Poker.

A gorgeous afternoon at Encore Poolside
